At GGS Engineering (Derby) Limited, it is important to us that every aspect of our business activities is conducted to the very highest standards. Everything from product/service and quality to our interaction with our valued employees, customers, suppliers and contractors; in fact, it is so important that we have engaged the services of QSC Limited to ensure our standards always exceed expectations.

QSC Limited are a highly professional SHEQ consultancy firm and although GGS Engineering (Derby) Limited always strive to the highest standards, our partners QSC Limited push our performance that little bit further.

 

Corporate, Social, & Ethical Responsibility

The Corporate, Social & Ethical Policy of the Company ensures that the company undertakes its activities in a socially, ethically and environmentally responsible manner. This includes the ethical and fair treatment of employees, customers, associates, contractors, suppliers, stakeholders and the public. The policy extends beyond the company’s direct dealings with people to include the social impact of its activities. The Policy objectives are regularly reviewed and are supported by a number of other specific policies and procedures set out below, which are regularly reviewed and internally audited in particular, the Safety, Health and Environmental Policies.

Our Company

The company is committed to the principles of good corporate governance and to ensuring that its business is properly directed and managed for the benefit of its stakeholders, including its managers and employees. The company seeks to maintain an informative and pro-active dialogue with its stakeholders through regular meetings and reviews. The company believes in honesty, integrity and professionalism in all aspects of its business. Bribery and corruption are unacceptable practices. The company will not knowingly participate in money laundering practices and takes all reasonable precautions to guard against this.

The company is committed to the continuous review and improvements of our Integrated Business Management Systems (SHEQ) throughout its business activities (see Appendix 3).

Our Employees

The Company strives to ensure that all employees are treated fairly and with respect, and are appropriately rewarded. The Company seeks to operate above the standards laid down by employment legislation and the 1998 Human Rights Act requirements, to implement an effective Equal Opportunities Policy and to acknowledge staff representation. The Company arranges for independent confidential counseling and advice to be made available to all its Employees. The Company seeks to develop and train its employees to realize their full potential. All employees receive twelve monthly appraisals and personal development reviews which enable individual training needs to be identified.

Our Suppliers

The Company endeavors to deal with all suppliers of goods and services in an open and honest manner and with professional standards of respect and integrity.

The success of the Company and that of its staff depends largely on the staff themselves, and so we look to you to play your part as we shall continue to play ours. Environmental Policy

Good environmental practices are high on the company’s list of business priorities. As a manufacturing and service company, we have a duty of care to our staff and our customers and we pursue environmental policies which reflect the impact of our business on the environment. This commitment is communicated throughout the organisation (see Appendix 1)

Current environmental policies include:

  • Compliance with all the applicable environment legislation,

  • Making appropriate use of recycling opportunities,

  • Using environmentally sensitive disposal arrangements,

  • Using environmentally sensitive procurement,

  • Assessing the environmental impacts prior to making major investment decisions

  • Ensuring that guidance, training and procedures are in place to enable all of our staff to contribute towards caring for the environment,

  • Setting measurable targets to reduce our impact on the environment,

  • Reviewing our policies on a regular basis so as to ensure they are effective & up to date.

The company’s environmental policy is implemented and audited as follows:

Each senior manager that reports to the Managing Director has a responsibility for the implementation of the environmental policy within their department. They are responsible for ensuring that the staffs for which they have overall management follow the environmental policies laid down by the company. Our nominated environmental representative carries out regular monitoring. The Managing Director has overall responsibility for the environmental policy.

Customer Service Policy

The company is focused on delivering a product and service, which is efficient and convenient to the customer and of a consistent high standard. The service must also result in savings being achieved for the customer organisation. All customer complaints and feedback are recorded on our on-line database Management System. The company has always aimed to provide much more to its customers than a product supply service. We provide a full range of associated services to our customers including the provision of design solutions, product development/support service and maintenance. These associated services are often supplied at no extra cost. GGS Engineering (Derby) Ltd has always adopted a policy whereby we are prepared to do that bit extra for our clients so as to ensure that the service we provide does not just satisfy but delights our customers (see Appendix 2).

Ethical Purchasing Policy

It is the policy of the company to seek to purchase goods and services which:

  1. are produced and delivered under conditions that do not involve the abuse or exploitation of any persons;

b) have the least negative impact on the environment.

Such considerations shall form part of the evaluation and selection criteria for all goods and services purchased.

The purpose of the policy is to:

a) promote good labour and environmental standards in the supply chain.

b) to protect the reputation of GGS Engineering (Derby) Ltd and its customers.
